As an educator dedicated to the whole child, I align my practice with Creating and Maintaining Effective Environments for Student Learning. Through SEL lessons, I build a classroom community rooted in respect, empathy, and growth. I promote positive classroom management by setting clear expectations, reinforcing positive behavior, and using restorative strategies that support a safe and nurturing learning environment.

Maintain learning environments that are physically, intellectually, and emotionally safe to ensure that students can learn.

  • Establishing clear expectations for behavior and participation.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive classroom climate.

  • Responding appropriately to student behavior with fairness and consistency.

  • Using proactive classroom management strategies.

 

                 

In this lesson, students learn about helpful and unhelpful thoughts and how they connect to their feelings and actions. My goal is to cultivate a safe and supportive environment where every student feels valued. In my classroom students will be able to express themselves via emotional intelligence while developing and understanding social and emotional skills.

Positive Classroom Management -- This paper is researched based on ways to apply positive classroom strategies as well as the implementation of it within the first hour of a typical school day.
